ママは要介護３になり、日常のほとんどをショートステイ先で生活してます。ウチの父が酒呑みじゃなければ、他の方法もあったんだろけど。夜に睡眠導入剤使うようになってからのママの認知症状は、比較的穏やかになったと思う。もう自分の名前も漢字で書けないけどね。でも面白いことに、TVのテロップ読むのが早い！
mom’s symptom of dementia has been getting milder since she started taking sleep inducer. she is staying at short- term care facility most of the week now – no choice since my dad has a bit alcohol problem at night (not everyday). she cannot write her own name in kanji anymore, but surprisingly, she reads words on TV (captions?) so quick!
父もかなり優しく接することに慣れてきた。ただ、彼は一人の時間が辛そう。
dad is getting used to being gentle to mom. he is not used to being alone most of the day, though.
tips: 認知症の人が迷ってたり、ためらってたりしたら、ポジティブな言葉と一緒に例えをみせてあげて。
tips: just show the example with some positive words if the person with dementia hesitates what to do.
